Our Cause

Whether one gives through time, money, or donated goods, there are many benefits in contribution. Research conducted by Washington, D.C. based Corporation for National & Community Service reveals that charitable work literally makes the heart grow stronger. Giving is also an opportunity for learning, which keeps your brain working too. Benefits from giving are reaped by both giver and receiver! Camp Me!’s ultimate goal is to cultivate a culture in which contribution, in any form, comes naturally and freely. This is why we reinvest a minimum of 5% back into the community – join the movement and find your cause!

Camp Me! supports several community programs that impact our youth in meaningful ways! In 2013 Camp Me! worked with the Bay Area Women’s and Children Center in San Francisco by donating several camp scholarships to the children in the Tenderloin. Here is what they had to say about our program:

“The children had a great experience at your camp and their parents loved the location and the cleanliness of the facilities.  They said if the opportunity comes again, they would jump on it (hint, hint ; )   ). Thank you again for the scholarships to your camp last year.  We work with a lot with low-income families, so without your generosity, our families don’t have the opportunities to experience such great camps.” – Nancy Ong

Camp Me! has committed to providing quality summer programs that are engaging to children, and inspire them to read. In addition to offering scholarships, we have also made a commitment to offer these quality programs at a price point that makes it more accessible to families.

Additionally, we support several of their programs, such as the Community Tree Recovery, and replanting trees in our National Forests. Want to help? Speaking of causes, have you met Coz? Coz has a special role at Camp Me! as Good Will and Cause Ambassador! He keeps quite busy with a few particular causes that he supports, two of which are Save the Children and the Arbor Day Foundation. Coz also inspires campers to explore what it means to have a cause – he believes every step and every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, can actually have a big impact! Coz reminds us that small changes, such as turning off the lights when you aren’t in the room, or unplugging an unused phone charger, supports a cause – a cause to conserve energy! And speaking of small change –  ever consider the power of the penny? Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school students throughout the country, through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients. Several penny fund raising efforts have raised millions of dollars for organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund and Habitat for Humanity. Another example of how small change (pardon the pun!) makes a big impact!
